About faculty
The aims of our faculty are to
train alumnies who are mostly requested by public and private
sector, to present research and consultant services for solving
economical, administerial and social problems, to publish papers
at international level which includes creative and genuine
knowledge.
Izzet Baysal
University, Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences
continues its activities with four departments which are
Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration and
International Relations. All of the departments have master of
science (M.Sc.) programmes, only department of economics has
philosophy of doctorate (Ph.D.) programme.
The faculty has two computer laboratories which have 42
computers and 26 classrooms which each one has a student
capacity changing between 25 and 160. In 2004-2005 Spring term
of education year 2292 undergraduate students are enrolled in
the faculty programmes and currently 79 academical personnel are
working in the faculty. On average per 29 student corresponds
to one academic personel in the faculty.
Every academic personnel has a computer that has an
internet access. Also faculty students can access internet when
necessary. The education in faculty is given in Turkish, but
education of international relations department is going to be
given partly in English by 2005-2006 term.
Department of Economics
The aim of our department is to equip our students with theories
and knowledges for solving problems that are encountered in
national and international area. This program is arranged for
finding creative solutions and preparing our students for public
and private sector.
The infrastructure of department is also completed for the age’s
requirements. It has a computer laboratory that nestles 20
computers. Six classrooms are dedicated for education that each
one has a capacity changing between 40-150. Every staff has a
computer that has an internet access. Also there are two
computers with internet access for our students.
The alumnies of our department are prefered economists in labour
market. They strive to find out optimal methods for using
producer durables and human capital sources more efficiently and
for marketing of products more profitable way in the
institutions where they work. Some of alumnies could find jobs
in public sector, major part of them have been employed in
private sector. Some of our alumnies have taken place as
entrepreneurs in business world.

Department of Business
Administration
The aim of
business administration department is to train professional
business administrators. The education programme is for having
students gain the necessary skills against the continually
changing global conditions. It is essential for promising future
business administrator to have the ability to direct the complex
economical developments with the team he is in. The main target
of a modern business administration education is to make student
comprehend the subjects at a professional level and to develop
solutions to the problems. Therefore, student-centered education
has a vital importance. The undergraduate programme involves
qualitative and quantitative programme solutions so that
behavioural sciences can be understood better.
The possibility of finding a job for
the students attending business administration after graduation
is really high. The graduates can work in Capital Markets Board
of Turkey, İstanbul Stock Exchange, State Planning Organization,
stock brokers, banks, the marketing and human resource
departments of all enterprises.

Department of Public Administration
The main purpose of the Department of Public
Administration is, spesificly training students as
managers who would be employed in varying management
bodies, having theoretical knowledge about contemporary
management thought and try to make capable in the
service of public.
In education process, according to Department’s purpose,
our programme includes many specific courses related to
Turkish socio-economic, political and administrative
structures and problems are analysed by theoretical and
analytical approaches courses from other related areas.
The main employment areas for
our graduates, are different levels of Ministrial
administration, District Governance, Auditing Boards, State
Auditorium Council, Public Economic Enterprises, State
Planning Organization and local governments.

Department Of
International Relations
International
issues are becoming increasingly significant, complex, and
diversified. Problems of development, globalization, and
international terrorism touch upon all people's lives and lend
themselves to conflicting interpretations and competing
alternative solutions. The Department of International Relations
is committed to not only educating students about world affairs
but also preparing them for professional careers in the
international arena. Students are endowed with academic skills
and capabilities, knowledge of research methods, critical
thinking, speaking and writing abilities. The Department
arranges frequent lectures and conferences. The department's
emphasis on providing adequate analytical skills for academic
work and its concern with the teaching in-depth of the various
topics of International Relations are addressed at the graduate
level with a series of advanced courses in the relevant areas of
study.
